Shiloh Pilot was born in Texas, moved around as a child a huge number of times before he finally settled in amongst the rain in Seattle. Actually, to be more specific, Shiloh spent most of his years growing up in a small town by the name of Duvall about 45 minutes outside of Seattle. He first started playing music when he was 15 years old and decided to form a band with his buddy from school. Originally, Shiloh played the electric bass for the band and his friend played the guitar. One year later, the band had evolved into a quartet of bass, drums, and two guitars. During those two years, Shiloh had given the bass over to a new member of the band and switched over to guitar. The band then dubbed themselves “Sean Turned Down Candy” and began to play shows. Shiloh gradually moved from being a background figure of the band to being lead vocalist. Many shows later, the band fell apart (as most high school bands do); some members left for college, others stayed home, but the band was no more.
Shiloh was not discouraged by this turn of events, however, as he turned towards the art of solo performances. After developing a solid set of songs, he recorded his first solo album, which contained five songs and was simply distributed amongst his friends. Realizing that he desired a fuller sound on recordings, Shiloh then started playing several other instruments including piano and accordion as well as returning to the bass. Two years later, he released his first album with the help of Kitty Productions titled “Random Chapters”. This album had ten tracks and was sold at many performances over the next several months before Shiloh decided to take a break from performing to begin work on his next album. Now, nearly a year and a half later, is the arrival of “Core Sample”, a daring leap from the previous releases. Reflecting the title of the album, Shiloh Pilot’s sound has taken a drastic turn.
